This is kiranti sunuwar folk lore about Legendary Ghare Budha.Who used to be a real existed man who used to born in beginning of Rana era in Hamba village development committee of dolakha district. He was such mighty like Bhima of Mahabharata because of his extra ordinary power which normal people doesn’t have, People start to give him name demon,pisacha[ghost] and many sort of hatred name. They start to call him ghare budha because he used to carry whole  bamboo to cross khimti river like athletics. His real name was RIFLE. They start to make folk tale about him and exaggerated his power and life style. Because of his extra ordinary power and abnormal Activity. He used to come with two huge whole tree carrying on his two sides of shoulders. When he fight, fight like bhima carrying small tree. He used to make damla{rope} twisting  ghamgaru[a kind of very strong throne plant which people  use to make strong stick for purpose of fight and carry for travel}

He used to eat

1:1 pathi{local basket for measurement  of grain and other foods} rice.
2:2 large full grown cocks cooking with stew.
3:1 gaito{local pot} jad{wine}nachaneko{not prepared for drink} and used to drink in karahi{local name for cooking bowl}.
4:2 pathi local ghee all of them at once].
He used to run in cliff like monkey. Very kind hearted and  brave. There is many legendary story about him which I like to mention few of those.
He used to born in Wallo Hamba so once Pallo Hamba people asked him for help to make and collect fire woods for the rainy season. As the people know they have to  offer him many foods which is mentioned as above like NAYA SUNUWAR DEVETA{SUNUWAR ANCIESTERAL GOD} If there is not appropriate portion of food item he is not ready to agree for work. So they  appeased him properly and he went to cut tree to make fire wood after one hour he came with 100 Bhari of fire woods and dropped in front of the house creating huge earth quake. Accordingly that time of local  people went to carry falam{iron}to the Nepal Kathmandu} from Those Mekchan falam khani {iron mine}. Nobody really like to carry iron from those mekchan to Kathmandu it was rana regime who want and forced people to carry in low wage. When he came down with huge amount of iron in his giant doko{basket} he saw one local tea shop owner NEWAR is cooking bread{syal roti}.The bread was so small for him he start to hate newar from his heart and said him in very mean way {OIE PATE NEWAR KINA TOILE YESTO SANO SANO MARICH JATRO ROTI POLISH TERO YO SABAI ROTI MO EKLAI KHAI DINA SAKCHU}“In translation hey newar why you cooking such tiny bread like pepper even it‘s not enough for myself”} After hearing such hated word newar got terrible temper and replied him.Hey dhakre{who carry basket} if you can eat all of these bread and I bet on you I will give you 100 rupees other wise you have to pay me if you don’t pay you will be forever my slave. In front of such huge crowd they ready for bet. Bet began newar start to cook 3 pathi of roti. Ghare budha was just relax and happily waiting to eat when the newar cook and bring it out from karahi he was just expanded his palm and eat it and swallow like mythological creature.Newar was so much sweating and horrified each and every time when he swallow it because that time of 100 rupees was equivalent with nowadays 1 corore rupees. He is not loosing only money but also loosing food and respect as well. Crowd  were chanting. Finally ghare budha finished the bread and took the money from newar and walked away from shop.Newar had 100% guarantee in his mind that he would die because he  ate it only for to win bet. This is not normal thing so he  was hiding and following him from behind where he goanna collapse. When he came to follow instead he saw him sitting and eating satu{mince flour from corn} on chautara near by present day of those high school} in fact ghare budha was not full.Newar was so much amazed and since then he never allow him to eat in his  shop. By the way once when he  went to Kathmandu carrying iron there was huge iron pillar somewhere in city to keep rana’s elephant.funnly that time rana were betting for people who can pull out this iron pillar would be rewarded. When the friends and citizen of local area chanted him to do it, he was pulled out iron pillar easily like playing thing. Message reached to the rana from messanger.Rana was so much impressed and asked him what he want as reward.Ghare budha happily replied him your highness if you are happy then I am hungry wanted eat.Rana was laughed and ask him to eat whatever he like to eat in city. He was rushed to eat everything and he ate whole city like hungry ganesha.city was scared to see such  hungry demon. Finally he went back to rana. Rana offered him soldier job because of his mightiness but he refused and instead asked saying please stop iron mine of those mekchan  and stop carrying  iron from those mekchan to Kathmandu which he doesn’t like since then  it is stopped  there is myth. Still we can see iron mine in those.
There is myth he had plenty of enemy every body wanted kill him because he eat like monster if they couldn’t appease then  he beat them. He used to fight with hundreds of people.It was very difficult to bring down him so instead they used to worship him but they wanted to kill him from back. He was escaped from many trap of vilagers.Once villagers took him in CHURI BHIR OF HAMBA and pushed him from top but luckily he hanged on tree. No body went to help him but fortunately he came up and destroy his enemy and village. Everything he make surprised for people, used to break and eat hundred’s of whole hard walnut with teeth. He used to kill buffalo with one punch and taken off skin cover of giant tree hitting by punch when he is angry. Such heroic legend used to travel many places like lion king. He used to rescue buffalo if they trapped in cliff and pits. He used to lift buffalo like baby. There is very interesting what pride story about him. When he go to Khasa to bring Tibetan salt how did he carried 70 pathi of salt and including his food. How did he saved his fellow kiranti when there is fight between Tibetan bhote.No matter how many enemy he face no one is match for his furocity.Hambali has never been so loved and feared in history of hamba and history of khimti khola{river}.Hamba is the  place where ancient kiranti legends born. Legendary sunuwar SORA BAHINI PHACHE NIMLO “16 SISTER GODDEST OF FRUITS USED TO BORN” Were from hamba.Hamba word is originated from sunuwar word HAM. It means wari{This side} from Darkha rasnalu.From HAB is derived and became HAB AND FROM HAB TO HABA.Another sunuwar name for haba is PHACHE.PHACHE is derived from PYAKYA That means one part of sunuwar kiranti village. Ancient sunuwar kirant migrated in here as hunting process. The place is very warm  and cliff so rich place for hunting and cultivation. Many scholar sunuwar kiranti people used  born in hamba still in Khimti area where the khimti river flow.Hamba has very different respect and glory of it’s own. In past people were scared with hambali because they were so intelligence for this it is better to ask personally yourself with hambali people about legendary story of hambali sunuwar. Long live my hamba my motherland and my legendary kiranti land.
